Cryptocurrency is not anonymous. The biggest players in the metaverse are the furry community and not some corporation that suddenly decide to rename itself to a generic term (isn’t that illegal?). Migrant crises apparently aren’t real and are just a product of racism and nationalism.

How many more lies will I hear from this world that was poisoned by capitalism and stupidity?

Sometimes I wish I could erase the universe and start anew in another world. This is becoming too much. I can’t distinguish between truth or lie anymore, I don’t know what to believe. Truth is a drug; once you have a little of it, you can’t get rid of it. And one day you start knowing too much, and the world feels beyond saving.

I wish I was wrong about the "beyond saving" part though.

What a cute cycling machine I found in the gym. I like the UI.

It looks like I’ve semi-successfully migrated my server to SSD storage. Tow-Boot has been a little bit iffy and picked the wrong drive, which was very fun to debug.

I had some experiences with cryptocurrency — both good and bad — and I think I should write an article about the good, the bad and the ugly. Mostly the two latter.

Gonna title it something like "How cryptocurrency doesn’t fulfill its own promises"

Apparently Telegram slowly rolls out a requirement to have an email address tied to an account.

Because one of my accounts has been locked out behind an email prompt which I cannot bypass. How interesting.

Apparently someone intercepted an SMS message from Discord on my phone and registered themselves a new account.

I hacked that account using my own phone number. Now I apparently have two Discord accounts.

Aesop of the Day: if you use a burner phone to create an account, make sure the number doesn’t belong to someone else.

For some reason, when asked how to stop mice from waking up a Linux PC, people recommend writing a udev rule and matching by a device ID. No more of this, I found a better way that works with any mouse!

I read what is apparently the USB HID specification to learn that HID devices use the bInterfaceProtocol field to signify if they are a keyboard, a mouse or some other device. The above udev rule matches on that field (apparently udev exposes a lot of interesting stuff about devices, including how much power they want to draw? I wonder if there’s any use for this...) to gather all USB mice in your system.

For example, actor frameworks in asynchronous systems. I thought that actors were extraneous entities that aren’t relevant to the problem space; and yet this concept has a use!
